Purpose of the Amaranth Diabetes Foundation, Inc
The
AMARANTH DIABETES FOUNDATION, INC. raises funds for diabetes
research. Since no administrative expenses are withheld, all
monies raised are passed directly to the American Diabetes
Association Research Foundation (ADARF) for specific research
projects with 100% of funds donated being used for research grants.
History
Honored
Lady Marie Waters, Past Supreme Royal Matron, of Connecticut, began
the Amaranth Diabetes Foundation. It was Honored Lady Marie’s
desire to give the Order of the Amaranth a specific charity to be
associated with and a vessel for the funds raised by Amaranth
members. By establishing this Foundation, Honored Lady Marie
felt the Order would obtain greater recognition for its charitable
efforts and donations.
Supreme
Council adopted the Amaranth Diabetes Foundation, Inc at the 1979
Supreme Assembly and established an irrevocable Trust Fund for this
purpose. ALL Members of the Order are automatically members of this
Foundation.
